The right next step may be outside Beyond ER.
ER's role includes recognizing when licensed, medical, crisis, community, legal, housing, recovery, grief, caregiver, or other specialized resources are more appropriate.
Licensed counseling & therapy
Professional clinical evaluation and treatment when a participant wants or needs licensed care.
Medical & psychiatric care
Medical evaluation, medication questions, psychiatric services, or other clinical treatment belong with qualified professionals.
Crisis support
988 provides specialized crisis support in the United States. 911 remains the route for immediate physical danger and medical emergencies.
Community resources
Food, housing, caregiver, financial, legal-aid, faith/community, support-group, and related assistance.
Recovery resources
Specialized treatment and recovery services when needs exceed ER's non-clinical support role.
Warm handoffs
When appropriate and authorized, ER can help a participant move toward a resource rather than simply handing over a phone number.
